Use the bike and hike nodes system in The Netherlands, Belgium and the borders of Germany to plan your own bike routes. After you make your route you can save, mail and share it.
You can use your own routes by starting GPS navigation combined with speech instructions in your own language.
On the map you see several points of interests for a stop. You can click on a POI for more information.
Besides planning routes you can use labels to group your routes and you can invite friends to share routes among.
Have fun!
Pros and cons of Fietsknoop fiets en wandel app app for iPhone and iPad
Fietsknoop fiets en wandel app app good for
This app is just great for planning and driving tours with the genius node point system used in the Netherlands. What I love is the opportunity to plan the route on my Mac with the big screen. It is syncronized via my account with the iPhone, so that I can use it during the tour for finding the right way.
A few wishes for later updates:
1. While driving on the right side of the map you see a list with the node points. It would be nice if this list would scroll during the route, even better if the next node you will arrive would be highlighted.
2. It would be great to see how far you have to drive to the next node during driving. Now only the distance is shown, but it should be counted down during driving.
3. It would be great to see how far you already have been driving and how far you still have to drive during the tour.
4. Since I dont speak Dutch it would be great if the app and the website would be at least also in English.
Thank you for that app and please keep developing it!
This app is perfect for cycling in whole Belgium and Netherlands. You can create your own route, it detects your position and it is very detailed. And its gratis! A must have.
This app works nearly as well as the actual web site does. A little slow on my 3G iPhone, I enjoyed having the maps with me on the phone as opposed to a wad of paper maps stuffed all silly in my bag, hands, pockets, etc. I do not have a data plan in Europe, so I took screen shots of the maps and just flipped through them usign the photo album app. Sure, Id like an English version but not really neccessary. An off-line function would be very nice to have where the map is stored in the phone with zoom capability. Id pay for that!
Some bad moments
Did not work in offline mode nor with mobile internet (crashed whenever the screen got locked// orange . iOS 7)
